  • Well it's nice to eat inside again and The Social didn't disappoint. The decor is contemporary and with extra covid-19 precautions, the place looked so clean and airy. We sat near the bar and enjoyed the Sunday football game with our meal. We ordered Gumbo, chicken wings with goat cheese wrapped in bacon which was very good. For entree, we had jambalaya, shrimp and grits, and shrimp/chicken Po'boy. All the dishes were very good in decent portion size. The wait staffs were friendly and attentive. Overall, this place is as good as a Southern Cajun eatery that you can find this far up north.

  • The Social Downingtown has a beautiful interior. The garden vegetable pasta was absolutely delicious and creative. The pistachio fried chicken was cooked to perfection and I highly recommend it! We also ordered blackened Scottish salmon which was nicely seared and flavorful. The Vermont burger had a great cook on it and the fries were fried amazingly. I can not wait to return. The service was impeccable. I love a restaurant that has unique dishes.

  • First time visiting for a fun friends night out. Didn’t want anything too crazy, just some good food and good drinks! I was blown away by the quality and flavor of these dishes. We were a bit intimidated by the menu, but intimidated in awe. We wanted to try almost everything on the menu! I had the jumbalaya, my friend had some gumbo, we had the Nola fries as the starter and some pierogies! Absolutely delicious. And our drinks were so refreshing. I’m not sure if I remember the drinks name I had but it was spicy and had a jalapeño in it, if you like unique tequila drinks, try this one. So yummy! Music and vibes were comfortable and plenty of space for you and your party to not feel compacted. Service was also very attentive and had great answers to questions about food. Definitely coming back!

  • We really enjoyed the food served here! The atmosphere is comfortable and family friendly. The menu is diverse and excitable which can make it difficult to decide what to get, but also amazing becuase you’ll want to go back multiple times. Whoever is in that kitchen is putting this establishment on their back & on the map! I love it.

  • Had a wonderful experience at the Social for my sister’s birthday dinner. Started off with the nachos, which were delicious and had ample toppings. Our entrees took a bit to come out (it was during the dinner rush and Phillies were playing, so we figured it would be a bit and were okay with that). Our server, Tyler, was extremely attentive, friendly, and apologized for the long wait, although we didn’t mind. Got the mahi mahi and crab cake special, which was fantastic. The lobster sauce was terrific, and they also added this to the pistachio chicken entree that my fiance ordered. Also ordered by our table were the chicken and waffles, which is a classic order when we come here. The bourbon burger was a hit and the fried pickles were a game changer. Absolutely love coming here!

  • Decided to try this southern kitchen out since I’m a southern girl from Mississippi. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the shrimp and grits and they were full of flavor. Tasted just like I was down in the delta. My husband had the pulled pork and it was really good as well. Now the gumbo is another story. I knew better before I went that the gumbo was going to be brown gravy served with rice and that’s exactly what I got. I despise places that say they have gumbo and serve you brown gravy with rice. I’m willing to over look the gumbo because everything else was amazing. Just fyi you can ONLY get authentic gumbo from down south, that’s not up for debate. Argue with ya mama not me!!! I absolutely recommend this place. Shrimp and grit are a must try.

  • An interesting place located in what used to be bar. The Social kind of looks like a bar on the outside still, but is quite a cozy restaurant on the inside (still has a cool bar) with a Cajun vibe and good music. I would recommend this restaurant. The drinks and beer are good. They have a great beer selection and an interesting cocktail menu for dinner drinks.
